Marine and Industrial Engineers We have been in the marine diesel engineering trade since September 1972. Danny Shepcar, the founder of D.R. Diesel, has been a part of the industry maintaining the Scottish fishing fleet in Fraserburgh and Peterhead since March 1994. This work has included the fitting of new and reconditioned engines, overhaul of engines, gearboxes and turbo-chargers, breakdowns and routine servicing. Danny also designed a new type of air filter mesh system which provides optimum performance. This design is now used by a large portion of the local fleet. Danny used the knowledge he had gained over these years to establish his own company, D.R. Diesel, in January 1997. Fraserburgh and Peterhead are two of the busiest fishing ports in Scotland and as the business expanded it became apparent that another manager was required to help cover the workload. Danny's brother Russell Shepcar joined the company to provide better coverage of the two ports. Keeping the company as a family owned and run business has allowed us to keep our overheads to a minimum. Job costs can be kept low whilst maintaining the highest quality (all our work is insured and guaranteed), giving you reliability and peace of mind at a price to match. Our work continues to be centred on the fishing fleets of these two ports. As well as maintaining engines we also sell general ships supplies. While most of our work is done on fishing vessels we are in no way limited to ships' engines. Since the company began we have gained other major contracts, inluding engine maintenance and overhauls at a variety of Ministry of Defence sites throughout the area. We have also been installing generator sets at agricultural sites in the area and we will be maintaining these on a regular basis. Now, in late 1999, the company has a growing workforce to keep up with demand. We are agents for Grenaa Diesel and Johnson Pumps. We are expanding to cover both Northern and Southern Ireland. We're still a family business, and we still pride ourselves on the quality of our work and our very reasonable pricing.

Marine and Industrial Engineers D.R. Diesel are specialists in the repair and servicing of Grenaa Diesel, Mirrlees Blackstone, Cummins and Callesen engines. Our main work involves overhauling and repairing ships' main engines. From replacement filters to entire engines, D.R. Diesel can supply and fit all necessary parts. We keep a selection of service exchange parts such as cylinder heads and pistons to enable us to turn round vessels more quickly than if we had to wait for replacements. We can supply new and reconditioned engines, gearboxes and crankshafts. It's not just engines, but also clutches, gearboxes and other propulsion system parts. As you can see in the picture we go as far as the propellors. That's being fitted to a Mirrlees Blackstone engined vessel on a slipway in Howth in Dublin. We have entirely re-engined vessels, taking out old equipment and fitting either Grenaa, Caterpillar or Mitsubishi engine/gearbox packages. We offer a 24 hour call out service to provide you with the fastest response to your needs. All work is tested, insured and guaranteed so you can be sure that, whatever it's purpose, your engine will keep on running. D.R. Diesel are one of the very few companies who service Woodward Governors and keep spares in stock. We also service Alfa Laval separators and all types of turbochargers. If you're not all at sea we can still help. We service land based industrial diesels operating a variety of tasks.
